Accreditation
Accredited investor status
SEBI's status for investors with the income or net worth to take part in private investments. It opens angel funds and can lower the minimums on PMS and AIFs. We help you with the application.

What it is
SEBI's status for investors in private markets
Accreditation is a status granted by SEBI-recognised agencies to investors who meet set income or net worth thresholds. SEBI introduced it in 2021 so that certain private investment products can be offered to investors who are able to assess and bear their risks. The status is voluntary, and you can hold it without investing.
Eligibility
Meeting any one route is enough
Individuals, HUFs, family trusts and sole proprietorships need to meet any one route. Net worth excludes the home you live in. Companies and other trusts have a net worth threshold of ₹50 crore, and NRIs can ask us.
What it gives you
What the status opens up
- 01
Angel funds
Since September 2025, only accredited investors can invest in angel funds, such as the Merisis Opportunities Fund.
- 02
Lower minimums
Accredited investors can be offered PMS and AIFs below the standard minimums of ₹50 lakh and ₹1 crore, depending on each product's terms.
- 03
Schemes for accredited investors
AIF schemes open only to accredited investors, which can carry their own terms and tenures.
- 04
One verified record
A single certificate from a SEBI-recognised agency, which a fund manager can rely on when you are onboarded. The manager still carries out its own due diligence.
